New Baby!!
First of all, a big congratulations for Lisa and Nathan on the birth of Sadie Jane! Here is a cute picture of her at home- I can't wait to meet her!

First Excuse
It's been awhile since I've posted. My excuses? Well, I finally got a date to write my NCLEX (nursing exam). This is the last step in my pursuit of my nursing license in the States. So, I'll write my exam in the beginning of April and my excuse is that I'm now busy studying. Not that I am always busy studying, but it's easier to justify reading other people's blog while I eat breakfast than taking time to write in my blog.
Second Excuse
My second excuse is that we had some visitors last week stay with us. My friend, Sarah from university, and her husband and little girl. Looking back at my pictures that I took while they were here, I noticed that I didn't get one of Sarah, but all of the pictures have Lily in them!
We went to Southamptom for lunch one day and walked around the town. Sarah and I got immense pressure from one boutique to buy some "couture" baby clothing, which consists of baby clothes that cost way more than I would even spend on clothes for myself. We broke out of the store once we got a chance!
Here's a picture of Lily at bathtime.
We also ventured into New York on Friday, which is the day when we had a whole bunch of snow! I think it was one of the worst days that we have had this winter. But, we made it into Manhatten, popped up from the subway into Times Square, look at the Empire State Building, had a long lunch in a great Italian restaurant and took a long coffee break in Starbucks. It wasn't the best weather to see New York in, but Luc, Sarah and Lily were real troupers!
Third Excuse
I made my first baby blanket. It didn't turn out perfect, but I think it looks pretty good from far away! Here's a picture of it. (There are a few bunnies on it, just in time for Easter).
So, that's what I've been up to. We are getting more visitors next week, so there may be another break in my blogging, but after, I will post all of our adventures. My mom wants me to post a picture of me, showing off the pregnant belly. I haven't taken a great picture yet, but I'll post a pic soon. If you need a dose of adventure, check out Marc and Kylie's blog (link is on the right hand side). They have just moved to Kenya and they have been so good about writing about all their new experiences and new adventures! Enjoy.

Hi, (friends of marc&kylie) i'm getting into making quilts and was wanted to let you know I love that blanket. It looks real good! did you just sew all the pieces together and then finish the edges? did you somehow sew all the layers together (can't tell). Just curious, no hurry. Congrats! on the baby too. did you choose a name of what to call "it" yet?
Hi Michaelia, this is Joanna (from ladies of leisure:). I wanted to come out of the closet and say that I read your blog on occassion and CONGRATULATIONS on being pregnant!! Very exciting. I think a good name for the pre-birth baby is Bumpkins. I can give no explanation or defense, I just like it.
Hi! Nice to meet you (ryan, grace, penelope and tytus) I'm glad you liked the quilt. To answer the quilt question, I sewed all the squares together and then I sewed the four big edges together with the middle layer (batting) and the bottom layer (which I did with fleece). Then, I sewed the ribbon on around the edge (which was by far the hardest part).
Hi Joanna, we have thought of a name for the baby, I think I should probably blog it for everyone to know. It's "Beans". There is a short story behind it.
Hey Mick, that is great about the quilt...my mome would be so proud of you! I still can't believe all my friends are having babies. I am having a thesis!
awesome, thanks for getting back to me on that. i've been working on one for our dogs (penny&tytus) at the request of my husband and i think he's getting impatient. he doesn't know the work that goes into it. and i love the name beans, even without know the story it sounds cute (unless that's not what you're going for) but still curious with the story...hmm.
Congratulations to Lisa and Nathan, enjoy being parents. Michaelia great to see you finally have a date for that nursing exam. I hope you can get the studying you need to do completed.
